As you are probably aware in Spring 2022 a vote on the future of your beef and lamb levy will take place, and I personally want to thank you all for taking the time to receive our newsletters to find out exactly how your levy is used. Make sure your details are up to date and you are signed up to receive all our services by clicking on this form.

In the meantime, we’ve been busy looking at what’s in store for the sheep sector over the next ten years. Our latest Horizon report Opportunities for the sheep sector pulls together knowledge from across the industry to look in detail at the future for the sector. This report will help AHDB deliver the export and home market support required to make the most of the opportunities and the knowledge to help farmers and processors negotiate the challenges ahead, for a profitable robust sheep sector.

Our ‘We Eat Balanced’ marketing campaign in January and February has seen great results with 11% more consumers in our target audience saying they intended to buy meat and 6% more saying they felt red meat could form part of a healthy, balanced diet, this is just the start with much more to come!

If you missed our Carbon Week webinars and podcast, they’re all available online. Or sign up to one of our upcoming webinars. We’re working on our plan to hopefully resume some events on farm over the summer, depending on latest guidance.

Keep safe and best wishes

Rebecca Miah
