Training is key to a successful pig business

By giving people the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills, we can help the industry develop professional, skilled and motivated staff.

You can now book your place on our latest set of training courses, which offer a range of ways to learn new skills at every level, from new stockpeople through to unit managers and business owners.

Stockperson Development Scheme

These online workshops are delivered by technical experts and are aimed at industry newcomers or those wanting to refresh their knowledge or learn about a different department.

Due to high demand for this course, we are running a second series of dates starting in January.

Stockperson Plus

This training naturally follows on from the Stockperson Development Scheme to further develop the technical skills of pig unit staff. It includes dedicated sessions for indoor and outdoor production.

Sessions are interactive and use problem-solving exercises, which are applied to virtual farm scenarios.

AgriGrow

This course is designed to help those looking to develop their leadership abilities and move into management roles. It consists of two sessions – communication and leadership – which will be taking place online on 6 January and 3 February.
