RamCompare hits major milestone
The RamCompare project is celebrating its tenth year and is seeking new rams to join the 2025 breeding season.
The national progeny test, joint-funded by AHDB and Hybu Cig Cymru (HCC), needs rams or semen from performance-recorded terminal sire breeds; nominations close on Friday 16 May 2025.
Find out how to provide rams or semen
The initiative is also seeking new commercial farms to join the project. Host farms provide around 300 commercial ewes of a uniform breed type, which are mated to terminal sire rams provided by the project using single-sire, natural-service mating groups or artificial insemination (AI).

Tackling climate change is arguably the most pressing global issue of our time. The next few years are seen as a crucial time for action across the whole economy, including agriculture.
The Beef & Lamb Roadmap sets out the environmental ambitions for the sector in England and Wales as we work towards reaching net zero by 2050, alongside other environmental goals, in a way that does not threaten UK food production and ensures economic sustainability of the sector.

Farmers urged to Aspire, Advance, Achieve

In January, more than 180 forward-thinking farmers gathered at the NatWest Conference Centre for the AgriLeader Forum 2025.
The flagship event is part of our AgriLeader programme, which focuses on leadership, growth and resilience for farming businesses.
A big part of the event’s success is due to the networking opportunities, where farmers can discuss with peers how to implement the learnings back on their own farm.
